A resident of the Chicago suburb of Elmhurst, IL, Mike Loftus is an entrepreneur who has guided MLE Merchandising & Sign Solutions, Inc., as president since 2002. Outside of his responsibilities with MLE, Mike Loftus enjoys boating and has owned a diverse range of boats, including a cruiser and pontoon.

A pontoon is a recreational boat with a relatively large lounge area that typically ranges in length from 14 to 30 feet. The boat is made especially buoyant with the addition of hollow, airtight tubes along its base. Because of the amount of space and the railing around the boat, pontoons can be personalized with a variety of accessories, including a fencing-mount barbecue grill, rail-mount rod holders, and a docktail boat bar caddy.

Other popular on-board pontoon accessories include collapsible changing rooms and inflatable boat slides. The latter can be attached to the pontoon in minutes and provide hours of fun for children. The pontoon’s functionality can also be enhanced with the addition of a monster swing tow bar (which reduces drag and aides in turning the boat) and smartphone-controlled lighting.
